Tools

Note: always loosed FILL first in case you cannot get it out. You don’t want to drain something and only then find out you can’t fill it.

Thread Sealer

  • The factory threads have it, so good to use some
  • Do not overdo it and don’t put the sealer on the very front of the various screws

Transfer Case

  • Remove skid plate – 14mm socket
  • 10mm allen for fill/drain

6 Speed Transmission

  • Wrap exhaust with aluminum foil for easy cleanup
  • 17mm allen (no need to cut – simply hammer out allen from socket)
    • If you have a much longer one do need to cut, you need around 1.5″ length
    • Harbor Freight sells a 17mm allen that you can punch out and the length is perfect
    • Use 17mm wrench on 17mm allen
  • 14mm allen for top fill

Differentials (Rubicon stock)

  • .5″ ratchet + short extension for both axles and both drain/fill (no socket or allen needed)
